It never was going to be that great, being based as it was on the really unutterably awful Morris Marina. But the blandness which the newly-established Korean brand added to a car of already epically miserable pedigree made the Pony stand out in the 1980s sea of anonymous rotboxes. It really looks like the automotive equivalent of those cheap stereo sets you bought as a teenager: the ones where the silver finish on the knobs would wear off after using it ... ow, twice.
